Origami:
A traditional Japanese folk art of paper folding. The goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of material into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. The use of cuts or glue are not considered to be origami.

This is a basic origami.

Origami has been used in very innovative ways too. A step further than the basics. Using combinations of various folding techniques, many surprising forms have been made. Below are some images.

SALOUKEE JEWELRY
Sarah Louise Kelly is the creator of Saloukee, a relatively new company that features intricate, laser cut jewelry designs. With patience and precision - pressing hundreds of rivets by hand, for example - she creates not just jewelry, but striking works of art from sustainable Japanese textile papers. The folds are designed  to expand and contract.

CRUMPLING
Crumpling or crimping is a sophisticated technique introduced by Christine employing large uncut sheets of paper that are precisely patterned and creased. The numerous amounts of fold would result in beautiful volumes with elastic qualities.
